July 28, 2026 Update

On July 28, 2026, Protect Mud Bay Cliffs submitted our Appellant’s Brief for our Appeal to the City Council of the June 5th Woods at Viewcrest Preliminary Plat Decision by the Hearing Examiner. Examiner Rice had approved the Woods at Viewcrest consolidated permit with conditions and denied PMBC’s SEPA MDNS appeal.

The deadline for responses to PMBC’s brief by the Woods at Viewcrest applicant and city attorney is Wednesday, August 5.

City Council will hold a hearing to decide on PMBC’s appeal on Monday, August 10 from 9 to 10 a.m. Council will hear 15-minute oral arguments from PMBC, the Woods at Viewcrest applicant, and the city attorney.

This is likely the only opportunity for City Council to see how many members of our community care about protecting Mud Bay, the coastal bluffs, and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Please attend the hearing if your schedule permits. You do not need to speak. Simply being present in the audience sends an important message that the issues raised by this project matter to the community.
