Important & Positive News
PROTECT MUD BAY CLIFFS November 21, 2025 UPDATE
Dear Neighbors and Supporters,
We have important and positive news!
The appeal Protect Mud Bay Cliffs (PMBC) filed in July received a major boost from the City of Bellingham Hearing Examiner (HE) this week when she DENIED all but one of the six motions filed by attorneys for the Woods at Viewcrest property owners.
These motions would have either limited —or completely blocked— PMBC’s ability to pursue our appeal of the city’s failure to require a full environmental review of the disastrous proposed Woods at Viewcrest subdivision.
The HE’s ruling represents near-universal support for PMBC’s legal responses — a remarkable success that strongly validates the strength of our appeal moving into the public hearing in January.
However, PMBC’s detailed legal responses to these six motions required substantial and unbudgeted attorney fees. To keep our efforts on track and ensure we continue to retain the attorneys and expert witnesses needed for the January hearing, we must raise an additional $40,000.
Thanks to generous support from scores of neighbors over the last few weeks, we have already raised $16,000. But we still have a long way to go—and so we need your help now.
Please make an end-of-year tax-deductible donation today to help close the remaining gap.
Visit MudBayCliffs.org/join-in and click the yellow Donate button. Mail-in donation instructions are also available at that link.
Your support remains the reason we are still in this fight and winning key battles. Thank you again for your commitment and generosity.
If you have questions or concerns, please email PMBC at Info@MudBayCliffs.org. Please also visit PMBC’s website for updates: MudBayCliffs.org.
Warm regards and happy holidays,
The Protect Mud Bay Cliffs Steering Committee
